Can I Work With One Of Your Recommended Anxiety Disorder Therapists?

I believe there is an advantage in working with a coach/therapist who had to overcome anxiety disorder himself. But since I don’t live in Canada or the USA, can I still work with one of your coaches/therapists?

You are correct. There is an advantage in working with a coach/therapist who had to overcome a struggle with anxiety disorder himself/herself. Someone who has been on both sides of anxiety disorder – as a sufferer and someone who has fully recovered - knows what it feels like and the many nuances of anxiety and recovery.

To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to work with a good coach/therapist no matter where they live, our coaches/therapists work with people from around the world via phone or Internet-based phone (using your computer as a phone, such as with Skype). We’ve found that this type of coaching/counseling works very well. In fact, recent research has found that teletherapy (therapy by telephone) is just as effective, if not more so, as face-to-face counseling.

For example:

"Obtaining therapy via teleconference is just as effective as face-to-face sessions, according to a new research by Stephane Guay, a psychiatry professor at the Universite de Montreal." - Medical News Today, March 24, 2010.

"Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) via the internet is just as effective in treating panic disorder (recurring panic attacks) as traditional group-based CBT. Internet-based CBT is also more cost-effective than group therapy," says Jan Bergström, psychologist and doctoral student at the Center for Psychiatry Research. - ScienceDaily, April 15, 2010.

This has been our experience as well.

The vast majority of our clients now prefer coaching/counseling by telephone or SKYPE (using their computer like a phone) because they find it much more convenient, confidential, and relaxed than meeting face-to-face. Many of our clients tell us how much they enjoy meeting from the comfort and convenience of their home, backyard, office, car, and even when walking in the park. Wherever you have a phone or the Internet, you can meet with one of our coaches/therapists.

Since we don’t require a long-term commitment, you can try it and see how you like it. If you like it and find it helpful, great! You can meet as often as you choose. If you don’t like it or find it helpful, you can stop at any time.

We have many clients around the world, including Canada, USA, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, China, Africa, Italy, Germany, New Zealand, Turkey, India, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Kuwait, Korea, South America, Norway, Poland, Spain, France, Sweden, and so on.

We know that finding a good therapist is difficult, because even though many therapists claim to be able to help with anxiety disorder, very few are really good at it. That's why we've done that work for you. We carefully chose our recommended coaches/therapists because of their personal experiences with anxiety disorder; their knowledge, training, and expertise; and because they really have a heart for helping people. We find that this combination makes a big difference. We’ve worked hard to make sure that our recommended therapists are the "best of the best."

The combination of good self-help information and working with an experienced anxiety disorder therapist, coach, or counselor is the most effective way to address anxiety and its many symptoms. Until the core causes of anxiety are addressed – which we call the underlying factors of anxiety – a struggle with anxiety unwellness can return again and again. Dealing with the underlying factors of anxiety is the best way to address problematic anxiety.
