could not have traveled this far without larry rohrick

The Zen saying, “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear” certainly applies to my counselling relationship with Larry Rohrick. I have suffered with anxiety and depression since childhood and it certainly has taken a toll.

Throughout my life I have worked away at it and explored just about every avenue I could think of to relieve some of my suffering.

When I came across the anxietycentre.com website, the more I read, the more resonance there was with my own life experience.

I have been to counsellors and therapists before with mixed results. But I had a strong and persistent drive to heal myself.

When I first talked to Larry I was going through a period of intense panic attacks, extreme anxiety and depression.  Larry walked with me every step of the way as I worked my way through it all.

Larry’s compassionate and reassuring manner was just what I needed. It took just a few months to work though Level One recovery – getting my symptoms under control and soothing my nervous system – developing a healthy lifestyle including moderate exercise, healthy eating and stress management. But I knew I needed to go deeper to truly heal fully and forever – Level Two recovery. And I knew I couldn’t do this alone.

It really helps to work with someone who has been down the path him/herself and really gets it – really understands what you are going through and the deeper roots of it all. Larry is such a person. I am well on my way to full recovery and have never felt so calm and confident. There is no way I could have travelled this far without Larry Rohrick.

The combination of good self-help information and working with an experienced anxiety disorder therapist, coach, or counselor is the most effective way to address anxiety and its many symptoms. Until the core causes of anxiety are addressed – which we call the underlying factors of anxiety – a struggle with anxiety unwellness can return again and again. Dealing with the underlying factors of anxiety is the best way to address problematic anxiety.
