I think anyone can overcome problematic anxiety by making the appropriate behavioral changes. For most anxiety, that would be sufficient.

However, you would also need to find satisfying and reassuring answers to the deeper questions in life, such as why are we here, what happens after death, does God exist, how do I manage dying and death, how do I manage loss (such as losing a loved one), how do I manage pain and suffering, how do I manage health and medical fears, what's my life's purpose, can I be sure about life after death, and so on.

Unless we have satisfying and reassuring answers to the "big picture" questions, we can still struggle with anxiety in those areas.

Furthermore, since Near Death Experiences (NDEs) have a lot of science to support them, and their reality is becoming more widely known and respected, there is no question we are more than physical beings. So, it will also be important to have good answers about the reality of life after death if a person wants to live fully and not fear what's beyond death.

If you have good and reassuring answers to those deeper questions, yes, you can overcome all aspects of anxiety disorder. However, if you don't, they could cause problems, especially as you age and face mortality.

I believe Christianity is the only religious/spiritual worldview with good and reassuring answers to those deeper questions. In fact, such good answers that I have no fear of death or any of those deeper issues where they used to be deeply troubling before becoming Christian.

Before becoming Christian, I investigated all religious/spiritual beliefs seeking answers to those deeper questions. Only Christianity had good and reassuring answers to them all. Not only that, Christianity was the only worldview that stood the test of intense scrutiny, which is why I became a Christian.

Since truth is one of my highest values, it was important to me to discover the truth of our existence. Thankfully, the truth can be known and set us free on many levels, including anxiety.

So again, yes, you can overcome troublesome anxiety without becoming Christian, as long as you have good and reassuring answers to life’s deeper questions and fears. Christianity provided those for me.
