Our Approach to
Therapy
Our therapists use a cognitive and behavioral approach to
resolving anxiety, stress, depression, and sleep disorders.
Our approach, however, is much more in-depth than that commonly
used by other therapists.
For example, the methods typically used by others deal with
some of the general cognitive and behavioral concepts commonly
associated with these types of disorders. And while these concepts
may be helpful for some, we find that they are generally too
superficial, and therefore don't get to the core reasons why
these disorders occur. And because we've been through these
disorders ourselves, we recognize the limitations of these
kinds of approaches.
Therefore, to provide the kind of help
that brings about meaningful and lasting relief, we have
expanded on the cognitive and behavioral concepts so that
we address the core underlying factors associated with anxiety.
Once these core factors are addressed, anxiety as a condition
disappears. Essentially, our approach gets to the root causes
of anxiety, whereas other approaches typically don’t.
Our therapists also use a more directive
approach. For example, other therapists generally use a “question/answer” approach
that is designed to help you self-discover your issues. And
again, while that may be helpful for some, we find that it
can take far too long to get to the core causes, if they even
do.
Because we’ve experienced anxiety ourselves and know
the devastation it can bring to a person’s life, our
approach is geared to help you get your life back on track
as quickly as possible. We don’t want to waste your time
hoping you’ll figure it out through “talking.”
To that end, we have developed a diagnostic tool that, within
an hour, can determine what your specific core factors are.
Once these core factors are identified, we provide insight
and strategies to help you work through them right away.
Many of our clients tell us that they’ve
learned more in the first few sessions with us than they
have working with their original therapists for years.
Again, because we’ve all been through it ourselves,
we know what works and what doesn’t work. So we’ve
developed our approach accordingly.
If you would like to address the spiritual aspects
of these disorders, our therapists are well equipped to help
in that area, too. For example, addressing the spiritual aspects
can help bring peace to the deeper issues such as the fear
of death and dying, the fear of long-term pain and suffering,
the fear of abandonment and loss, finding the purpose for your
life, and how to live a life of peace and fulfillment.
The good news is that anyone can overcome these disorders
when the right information, help, and support are provided.
We have developed our approach to provide this combination.
