Passive
living: Steps to change - September 5, 2006
The
first step to resolving a problem is awareness: being aware
that you “have” a problem. Over the last few weeks
you have identified that you may have a problem with living
passively. If you scored higher than 20, you have a problem.
The higher your score, the more of a problem you have.
The
next step to resolving a problem is understanding the problem.
You want to ask yourself the “why, when, and how” of
your problem. For example:
Why
do I have this problem?
When
did I develop this problem?
How
did I develop this problem?
There
are many reasons for living passively. As humans, we only continue
with behaviors when we feel we are receiving some benefit from
them. So this week’s task is to ask yourself the following
questions:
Why
do I live passively?
What
am I trying to gain by living passively?
What
am I trying to avoid by living passively?
Good
luck with your homework.
