The Anxiety Centre And Hellen Have Been The Best Thing That Has Happened To Me
The Anxiety Centre helped me learn how to control my anxiety without the use of medications. I was seeing a Therapist prior to the Anxiety Centre and she diagnosed me with generalized anxiety, depression and OCD. Also, she informed me she could not help me until I began antidepressants. I wanted to work with her without medicines, however she was insistent I needed them. My choice was to try without them. Shortly after I began to work my issues out, it was not satisfactory and she told me after I started medicine she would be glad to see me again. I felt she had given up on me before I had a chance to succeed. I knew I could do it but not alone. I needed guidance.
I started searching again until I found the Anxiety Centre. I read about their program and all their site had to offer. I then became a member and found a wonderful therapist named Hellen Krahn. It was rough going at first and I tried to keep up with what was being taught to me until I could not continue. I finally confided in Hellen, that I was having difficulty understanding everything. Also I was concerned if I was not learning fast enough she would " drop me". My thoughts could not have been further from the truth.
Hellen explained to me that no one could absorb all the information at once and she was glad I came to her with my concerns. Hellen also reassured me that she was not going to "drop me" and that it takes time to learn all that I needed to. Hellen has never given up on me. She has been straight forward, to the point, but also knows when compassion and encouragement are needed.
The Anxiety Centre and Hellen have been the best thing that has happened to me. There is so much knowledge on this site and it holds true, 'Knowledge is power'! Recovery from anxiety and depression does not have to be in a bottle of pills. Hellen and the Anxiety Centre have shown me this. 'Face...do not run'. They give you all the skills you will ever need to overcome life's pitfalls.
I truly believe medication is not needed. Moreover, hard work is! I am still a work in progress. Many times I felt like quitting…it gets tough but I get back up and keep on moving forward. I am always learning. This is why I am still with the program. Thank you so much Hellen.

The combination of good self-help information and working with an experienced anxiety disorder therapist, coach, or counselor is the most effective way to address anxiety and its many symptoms. Until the core causes of anxiety are addressed - we call these core causes the underlying factors of anxiety - a struggle with anxiety unwellness can return again and again. Dealing with the underlying factors of anxiety is the best way to address problematic anxiety.
