Studies have shown that bibliotherapy (reading self-help information) can be just as beneficial as medication therapy. For many, this may be all they need to return to anxiety condition-free living.

Studies have further shown, however, that cognitive behavioral therapies, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), produce a more thorough and lasting recovery. In fact, cognitive therapy is the ONLY treatment that provides lasting relief with a very low incidence of rebound. It also is the only approach that produces a recovery rate of well over 90 percent.
